I don't think I want a luxurious life.

I don't need someone who arrives with expensive gifts, takes me to the fanciest restaurants, or makes our relationship look beautiful from the outside.

I think I want something much harder to find.

I want someone who notices.

I want to accidentally spill half my food on my dress at dinner, turn red with embarrassment, and look at him apologetically—

only for him to deliberately spill some food on his own clothes and look at me like,

"Well, now we're both idiots."

Not because he has to make me feel better.

But because he doesn't want me to feel embarrassed alone.

I want someone who notices that I don't eat the crust of my bread.

And then, without making a big deal out of it, starts removing the crust before handing it to me.

Not because I asked.

Because somewhere along the way, he remembered.

I want to be sick one day, too tired to properly eat, and have him sit beside me, patiently feeding me while singing some ridiculous song because he knows I'm more likely to eat if I'm distracted.

And whenever he hands me a bottle of water, I want the cap to already be off.

Not because I can't open it.

I can.

But because that's his little way of showing love and respect.

A tiny gesture that says, I've noticed you. I've remembered you.

And maybe nobody else would notice.

But I would.

Because sometimes love isn't about doing something you couldn't do yourself.

Sometimes it's about doing something you could have done yourself—just because someone you love wanted to do it for you.

I want the kind of love where being known feels more romantic than being spoiled.

Where he knows my coffee order, but more importantly, knows when I haven't eaten.

Where he knows my favorite flowers, but also knows which days I need a little extra patience.

Where he knows what makes me laugh, but also knows when I'm pretending to be okay.

I want someone who doesn't just listen to my stories.

I want someone who remembers the details.

And maybe that's why I don't dream about some extravagant wedding.

I dream about something much smaller.

I imagine us standing there, surrounded by everyone we love, making promises that are somehow both terrifying and beautiful.

And after everything is done, I imagine him looking at the clock.

Maybe it's 7:43.

Maybe it's 9:16.

Whatever exact minute we became us.

I imagine him stopping the clock.

Taking out the battery.

Keeping it somewhere safe.

Not because the clock is valuable, but because it was measuring time at the exact moment our lives changed forever.

Years later, we'll find it tucked away somewhere.

The hands will still be frozen at that exact minute.

He'll look at me and say,

"Do you remember?"

And I'll say,

"Of course I remember."

Maybe that's my version of romance.

Not being given the world.

Just being noticed within it.

I don't want to be loved loudly if I am not loved carefully.

I want the kind of love that makes me think,

"He doesn't just love me.

He has been paying attention."

There are some things I simply cannot respect.

Not because I think I am morally superior to anyone else, but because I can no longer look at an animal being used for human convenience or entertainment and call it harmless.

I don't respect a system that makes a living out of an animal's suffering.

A horse pulling a carriage along a beach while people sit comfortably above it.

A horse carrying an elderly pilgrim up the steep 12-kilometre path to Vaishno Devi because the journey is too difficult to make on foot.

Animals carrying heavy goods because human convenience demands it.

Elephants, bears, horses, and big cats being made to perform tricks under circus lights.

Dolphins jumping through hoops in concrete pools while crowds clap and cheer.

We've become so accustomed to seeing these things that sometimes we forget the simplest question:

Did the animal choose this?

Of course it didn't.

We call it tradition. We call it service. We call it entertainment.

We give beautiful names to things that become uncomfortable when we look at them honestly.

A horse carriage becomes a romantic experience.

A horse carrying a tired pilgrim becomes a religious service.

A circus becomes family entertainment.

A dolphin show becomes an educational experience.

But changing the name doesn't change the reality for the animal.

The horse still has to carry a human body when it is tired. The elephant still has to perform because it has been trained to. The dolphin still has to repeat tricks because humans find them fascinating.

And the animal has no meaningful way of saying, I don't want to do this today.

That's the uncomfortable difference between us and them.

We have choices. They don't.

I understand that the conversation becomes complicated when necessity is involved.

What about an elderly person who desperately wants to visit Vaishno Devi but cannot physically climb the mountain?

I understand that. I understand wanting your elderly parent or grandparent to experience something sacred to them. I also understand that, for some people, animals are a source of livelihood.

I don't think every person who rides a horse is intentionally trying to cause suffering.

But compassion cannot end with our intentions.

It has to include the creature carrying the consequences of those intentions.

If we can build roads, ropeways, lifts, wheelchairs, assisted transport, and other alternatives, then surely our goal should eventually be to make human access less dependent on an animal's physical labour.

Because the fact that something has been done for generations doesn't automatically make it ethical.

Sometimes tradition simply means we haven't questioned something for long enough.

And then there is entertainment.

This is where my patience disappears completely.

Necessity and entertainment are not the same thing.

I cannot understand watching an elephant balance, a bear perform, a big cat jump through a hoop, or a dolphin leap on command and thinking only about how impressive the trick is.

I keep thinking about everything that had to happen before the applause.

The confinement.

The training.

The conditioning.

The unnatural environment.

The separation from the life the animal might have lived if humans had simply left it alone.

And suddenly the trick doesn't look magical anymore.

It looks like obedience extracted from an animal that never consented to the performance.

I know that replacing entire systems isn't as simple as saying, Just stop.

But acknowledging complexity doesn't mean we should stop questioning the system.

We can care about elderly pilgrims and care about the horses carrying them.

We can care about livelihoods and work toward alternatives that don't depend on animal suffering.

We can love the circus without needing animals in it.

We can admire dolphins without forcing them to perform for us.

We can enjoy animals without believing that access to them is our right.

Because perhaps the most beautiful way to love an animal is sometimes to let it remain an animal.

Not a ride.

Not a prop.

Not a performer.

Not a tourist attraction.

Not a source of income.

Just a living being allowed to exist without having to earn its place in the world through our entertainment or convenience.

And maybe that's where my respect begins.

Not with what an animal can do for me.

But with my willingness to let it live a life that has nothing to do with me.

I think I have always loved water.

Not just the ocean, although the ocean might be my favourite. Not just rain, lakes, rivers, or the feeling of being underwater.

I love water in almost every form it exists in.

Maybe because water is one of the most contradictory things I know.

It is always moving, yet somehow, it is the calmest thing I have ever known.

The sea never really stops. Waves rise, collapse, return, and begin again. The surface is constantly changing. There is movement everywhere. And yet, sitting in front of it, I have never felt like I needed to keep up.

The water moves enough for both of us.

Maybe that's why I find so much peace there.

I could sit in front of the ocean for hours and do absolutely nothing. No phone. No conversation. No need to explain what I'm thinking. Just watching the waves arrive and disappear as if they have been doing it forever.

And somehow, my thoughts become smaller.

Not unimportant. Just quieter.

Maybe that's also why I relate to the waves so much.

They never stay where they are.

They come forward, pull back, disappear into themselves, and then return again.

Sometimes they arrive gently, barely making a sound.

Sometimes they crash with everything they've got.

Sometimes they become chaotic—rising higher than they should, breaking apart, losing their shape—only to gather themselves again somewhere further out.

I think I understand that.

There have been so many versions of me.

The quiet one.

The overwhelmed one.

The hopeful one.

The angry one.

The one who disappeared for a while.

The one who came back.

I've had moments where I felt like I was finally becoming something, only to feel myself fall apart again.

And maybe I've always misunderstood what falling apart means.

Because waves don't become less beautiful when they break.

Breaking is part of how they move.

They don't stay broken.

They return.

Again and again.

Maybe that's what I love about watching them.

They remind me that I don't have to remain the version of myself I was yesterday.

I can retreat.

I can be still.

I can lose my shape for a while.

I can come back differently.

And none of it means I've failed.

I love the way sunlight dances with the sea, turning the surface into thousands of little sparks. The same water that can look dark and endless can suddenly become golden because the sun decided to touch it.

Water is never just one thing.

It can be soft and powerful. Still and chaotic. Beautiful and frightening.

And somehow, I feel safest around it.

Maybe because water doesn't pretend.

It simply moves.

It adapts. It changes shape. It flows around things that try to stop it.

I love being underwater for the same reason.

Everything becomes quiet.

The world feels far away. Conversations disappear. Even my thoughts seem to lose their volume.

For a few moments, I am simply there.

Present.

And rain does something similar.

There is something about the first few droplets landing on your face that makes everything pause.

The world hasn't actually stopped—cars are still moving, people are still rushing, life is still happening—but something inside you does.

You notice your skin.

Your breath.

The smell of wet earth.

The sound of rain.

You become present in a way that is difficult to explain.

And maybe that's what I love most about water.

It makes me feel like my presence is enough.

Like I don't have to be productive, impressive, or becoming someone to deserve a moment of stillness.

I can just sit beside a lake.

Stand in the rain.

Watch the sea.

Float beneath the surface.

And simply exist.

Maybe peace is finding something that makes the chaos inside you quiet enough to finally hear yourself breathe.

For me, that something has always been water.

As if every attempt to become something is automatically dishonest. As if wanting to look like a certain kind of person means you can never genuinely become that person.

But what if sometimes performance is just the beginning?

Maybe someone carries a book on the metro because they want to look like the kind of person who reads. And maybe, somewhere between pretending to read and actually reading, they stumble upon a sentence that stays with them for years.

Maybe someone listens to a certain kind of music because it fits the version of themselves they want other people to notice. And then, somewhere along the way, they find a song that actually changes their life.

Maybe someone starts dressing differently because they want to feel confident. They post pictures because they want to be seen as confident. And eventually, after enough time of trying, they look in the mirror and realize they actually feel it.

Maybe someone starts going to the gym because they want to look like the kind of person who takes care of themselves.

Maybe someone starts writing because they want to be seen as a writer.

Maybe someone starts speaking confidently before they actually feel confident.

And maybe that's okay.

Because not every performance is a lie.

Sometimes it's rehearsal.

We are all, to some extent, trying on different versions of ourselves. We borrow interests, habits, aesthetics, opinions, confidence, even personalities, and see what fits.

Some things fall away.

Some things stay.

And sometimes the thing we initially did for the sake of being perceived becomes something we genuinely love.

I think we underestimate how often people become through pretending.

You don't always wake up one morning and suddenly become confident, disciplined, artistic, interesting, well-read, or comfortable in your own skin.

Sometimes you have to act like that person before you know how to be them.

Sometimes you have to place the first brick before you know what you're building.

So let people perform.

Let them post the books they're reading.

Let them dress like the person they're becoming.

Let them romanticize their lives.

Let them try new personalities.

Let them suddenly become obsessed with something they knew nothing about six months ago.

Let them be a little cringe.

Let them change their minds.

Let them outgrow the version of themselves they were performing yesterday.

Who are we to mock someone for reaching towards a version of themselves they hope to grow into?

And honestly, isn't there something kind of beautiful about it?

Someone cares enough about who they could become that they're willing to try.

Even if, at first, they're doing it for the audience.

Even if the first few bricks were placed because they wanted someone to notice.

Maybe one day they'll look around and realize they've built something real.

So let people perform.

Because sometimes the person you're pretending to be is simply the person you're learning how to become.

And maybe becoming yourself was never supposed to look completely authentic from the beginning.

We all romanticize our lives.

Some of us imagine a person who will enter our world and finally make everything feel right.

The hero who heals the broken girl. The person who saves the lost boy. The friend who makes loneliness disappear.

It sounds like a beautiful story.

But sometimes that story becomes a trap.

Because slowly, you start believing that your life cannot change until someone else changes it.

You start waiting. Waiting to be chosen. Waiting to be loved. Waiting to be rescued.

And while you are waiting for someone to become the reason your life begins, you forget that it was always your responsibility to live it.

Don't turn every kind person into your future. Don't turn every connection into a promise. Don't abandon yourself while hoping someone else won't.

Life is not a movie.

Nobody is coming to save you.

And that is not a tragedy.

That is freedom.

Because it means the person you've been waiting for has been you all along.

I don't know if God exists.

Some days I believe with all my heart. Other days, I don't know what I'm believing in anymore.

Maybe believing in God is a lot like believing in true love.

You can't prove either. You simply hope they're real.

People tell you to pray with all your heart, and God will listen.

But then I wonder...

If that's true, why does the person sleeping on the footpath still go to bed hungry?

Surely they pray harder than I ever have.

Surely the person with no roof over their head, no certainty about tomorrow, no meal waiting for them, has cried to God with far more desperation than I ever could.

So why do I have a home, while they don't?

That question stays with me.

A terrorist murders innocent people in the name of God.

This makes me question if there is a God.

Millions are donated to religious institutions while people outside them struggle to find their next meal.

This makes me question if there is a God.

A young woman is burned alive because her family couldn't meet dowry demands.

This makes me question if there is a God.

Farmers spend their lives feeding the world, yet many cannot afford to feed themselves and end up taking their own lives.

This makes me question if there is a God.

Seeing my mother carry burdens she never deserved, watching her suffer despite doing her best, and wondering how much more one person is expected to endure...

This makes me question if there is a God.

A mother, who knows what it means to be a woman, asks her daughter-in-law to abort a baby simply because she's a girl.

This makes me question if there is a God.

Parents spend decades raising their children, only to be abandoned in old-age homes because they're now considered a burden.

This makes me question if there is a God.

Maybe these aren't failures of God.

Maybe they're failures of humanity.

Or maybe that's just another answer we tell ourselves because we don't know what else to say.

I don't write this because I hate religion.

I don't write this because I think faith is foolish.

I write this because I have questions.

Questions that prayers haven't answered.

Questions that suffering keeps asking.

Maybe one day I'll find peace with those questions.

Or maybe faith isn't about having answers.

Maybe it's about learning to live without them.

I have heard this idea of the five stages of love somewhere before, and I found it incredibly beautiful. It stayed with me, and I wanted to share it with you all in my own way.

So here are the five stages of love, represented through some of the most timeless Bollywood classics.

Maybe love doesn't begin with "I love you." Maybe it begins with a song.

I've always felt that if you look closely, old Bollywood has a way of capturing emotions that words often struggle to explain. These songs don't just tell stories of romance—they capture different seasons of the heart, from the first meeting to the final choice of staying.

Stage One: Mulakat — “Ek Ajnabee Haseena Se”

Every love story begins with a stranger.

A face you've never seen before somehow feels familiar. A conversation that wasn't supposed to matter lingers in your mind long after it's over. You're not in love yet—you've simply met someone who has unknowingly shifted something inside you.

This is the stage of curiosity. Of stolen glances. Of wondering who they are when they aren't around.

Love doesn't arrive dramatically.

It introduces itself quietly, as a stranger.

Stage Two: Nazdeeki — “Yeh Shaam Mastani”

Then comes the desire to meet again.

You begin inventing reasons to see them. A simple evening feels incomplete if they aren't a part of it. Conversations stretch longer than planned, and goodbyes become a little harder.

Nothing extraordinary has happened.

You just want more time.

This stage isn't about love yet. It's about choosing someone's company over your own solitude. It's the beautiful space where affection starts replacing curiosity.

Stage Three: Mohabbat — “Pal Pal Dil Ke Paas”

Eventually, they stop being someone you meet.

They become someone you carry.

They're present in ordinary moments, in random thoughts, in songs you didn't even know reminded you of them. Love quietly settles into your routine until their existence becomes part of your emotional landscape.

Stage Four: Bichadna — “Lag Ja Gale”

That's love's final stage.

Not even the heartbreak.

"Abhi Na Jao Chhod Kar..." isn't just a plea for someone not to leave.

It's a celebration of the person who doesn't.

Maybe that's the real destination of love—not finding someone who makes your heart race, but finding someone who keeps choosing the journey with you.

Old Bollywood understood something we often forget today.

Love isn't a single emotion.

It's a progression.

A goodbye.

And finally...

A choice to stay.

And perhaps that's why these songs have survived generations—not because they're old, but because they're timeless.

This, to me, is love in its five stages: Mulakat, Nazdeeki, Mohabbat, Bichadna, and finally, Manzil.

Five songs. Five emotions. One journey that almost every heart, in one way or another, eventually lives through.

I read this somewhere, and it stayed with me.

A professor once asked his students:

"You all act too smart, as if you are the kings and queens of the world. But if I ask you to speak about yourself for as many minutes as your age, you probably won't even last a minute."

Then he added:

"And when I say yourself, I don't mean the tags you have collected. I mean the real you."

At the time, I didn't fully understand what he meant.

But later, after looking inward, I realized how often we confuse our labels with our identity.

We don't truly know ourselves. We know the names, roles, and judgments we carry.

Good person. Bad person. Successful. Failure. Beautiful. Ugly. Smart. Dumb. Rich. Poor.

We become a collection of identities given to us by ourselves and the world, until we forget there was something deeper beneath them.

But before all these labels, we were simply human.

We were babies.

A baby doesn't see your appearance, mistakes, religion, status, or achievements. A baby doesn't judge. It simply looks at you with curiosity.

You make a silly face, and the baby laughs.

And somehow, that small laugh makes you feel completely happy.

Why?

Because in that moment, there are no labels. No expectations. No need to prove anything.

You are simply being yourself.

The tragedy is that we were all once that baby.

We once loved without judgment. We once made people feel special without trying.

Somewhere along the way, we started collecting labels and forgot who we were beneath them.

Society puts us into boxes because boxes are easier to understand, control, and sell to.

And slowly, we start treating ourselves and others as labels instead of human beings.

But you are not just your achievements. You are not your failures. You are not the opinions people have placed on you.

Before the world told you who you should be, you already were someone.

Maybe growth isn't about becoming someone new.

Maybe it's about remembering who you were before the world gave you a label.

People often ask why I want a love marriage.

As if it's about romance.

As if it's about grand gestures, dramatic confessions, or finding someone who gives me butterflies.

It isn't.

I want a love marriage because I don't want to marry a stranger simply because the calendar says it's time.

I don't want to choose a life partner out of fear that I'm getting older, because relatives have started asking questions, because everyone around me is settling down, or because I'm a woman and the world keeps reminding me that my "time" is running out.

I don't want marriage to be a deadline.

I want it to be a decision.

I don't dream about a wedding day nearly as much as I dream about ordinary Tuesdays.

Growing old with someone.

Buying groceries together.

Knowing exactly how they take their tea.

Arguing over which movie to watch, then laughing five minutes later because neither of us can stay angry.

Being there when life becomes unbearably difficult.

Celebrating tiny victories no one else notices.

I don't want someone who merely fits into my family.

I want someone whose silence feels like home.

Someone I choose every day, and who chooses me back.

Yes, love can grow after marriage. Many beautiful marriages begin that way.

But for me, love isn't something I want to hope for.

It's something I want to recognize.

I want to know that the person standing beside me isn't there because we were compatible on paper or because our families agreed.

I want them there because somewhere along the way, in the most ordinary moments, we became each other's favorite place to return to.

Marriage is too long of a journey to begin with "maybe."

I want to begin it with certainty.

Not certainty that life will always be easy.

Not certainty that we'll never change.

But certainty that, when I looked at this person, I knew I wanted to experience every version of life with them.

Not because I was afraid of being alone.

But because life felt richer with them in it.

I don't want to marry because society expects me to.

I want to marry because one day, I'll meet someone and think:

"If I'm going to grow old, I hope it's with you."

It's simply to experience.

I want to read every book that has ever made someone feel understood.

I want to speak languages I've never heard before, watch films from countries I've never visited, listen to songs whose lyrics I can't yet understand, and still somehow feel every emotion they carry.

I want to travel—not just to see places, but to collect perspectives. To sit beside strangers on trains, in cafés, on park benches, and hear the stories that shaped them. I want to know about their childhoods, their heartbreaks, the love they found, the love they lost, the dreams they buried, and the ones they're still quietly holding onto.

I want to understand people.

I want to make them feel seen.

I want to write, paint, journal, play games, learn an instrument, lose myself in philosophy, psychology, mythology, history, science, poetry, cinema, and every fascinating corner of the world. I want to try everything simply because there's beauty in everything.

And honestly, I don't care whether I'm good at all of it.

I don't need to master every hobby or turn every passion into an achievement. I simply want to experience it. To be a beginner. To make terrible paintings, write imperfect pages, mispronounce new words, lose games, and still find joy in the process.

Because perfection kills joy.

Curiosity asks us to explore.

Perfection asks us to perform.

I also want to have enough—not for luxury, but for generosity. I want to be able to help someone without checking my bank account first. To buy a meal for the hungry, support a struggling artist, pay for someone's education, or quietly change a person's day simply because I can.

There is something unbearably beautiful about the fact that the world is so much larger than any one person can ever experience.

And maybe that's exactly what breaks my heart.

Because every time I choose one thing, I'm saying no to a thousand others.

The more I discover, the more I realize how little I'll ever know.

Sometimes I don't want to be one thing.

I want to be everything.

A writer who paints.

A traveler who collects stories.

Someone who can discuss Greek mythology one moment and psychology the next.

Someone who finds meaning in poetry, wonder in science, and comfort in cinema.

Someone endlessly curious.

But curiosity has a shadow.

When you fall in love with everything, you struggle to devote yourself to anything. Every new interest feels like another life you could have lived. Every skill becomes another mountain worth climbing. Before long, you're standing at the bottom of hundreds of mountains, exhausted before you've truly climbed even one.

The irony is almost poetic.

I fear becoming nothing because I'm trying so hard to become everything.

Not because I need to achieve everything—but because I never want to stop discovering.

The truth is, no human being can hold the entire world.

No one can read every book.

Watch every film.

Learn every language.

Visit every country.

Master every instrument.

Meet every person.

Experience every life.

There simply isn't enough time.

But maybe the beauty was never in collecting everything.

Maybe it was always in remaining curious.

The world doesn't ask us to experience all of it. It simply invites us to keep wondering.

To stay open.

To keep saying, "Tell me more."

Perhaps a meaningful life isn't measured by how much we consume, but by how deeply we experience whatever we choose.

I'll never know every story.

But I can let a few stories change me.

I'll never meet everyone.

But I can make the people I do meet feel seen.

I'll never become everything.

And maybe that's okay.

Because a life spent chasing wonder is never a life wasted.

You don't have to contain the entire universe.

You only have to remain in awe of it.

I've been thinking a lot about kindness lately.

Not the kind that's carefully photographed. Not the kind that waits for applause, collects likes, or hopes someone notices. The world already has enough performative kindness.

I'm talking about the quiet kind.

The kind that comes naturally. The kind you choose even when no one's watching. The kindness that isn't a strategy or a performance—it's simply your default way of moving through the world.

There's a poem by Rudy Francisco that has stayed with me for years. He writes about being asked to kill a spider. Instead, he reaches for "the most peaceful weapons" he can find—a cup and a napkin. He catches the spider, takes it outside, and lets it walk away. Then he writes:

"If I am ever caught in the wrong place at the wrong time, just being alive and not bothering anyone... I hope I am greeted with the same kind of mercy."

I think that's one of the most beautiful definitions of kindness I've ever read.

Because kindness isn't just about being nice. It's about recognizing yourself in another living being. It's remembering that every one of us has been misunderstood, judged too quickly, or found ourselves in the wrong place at the wrong time. We've all hoped someone would choose mercy over punishment.

Kindness is often misunderstood. People mistake it for weakness. They assume that because you're patient, you'll tolerate disrespect. Because you're forgiving, you'll accept being hurt repeatedly. Because you're generous, you have no boundaries.

But kindness and people-pleasing have never been the same thing.

Real kindness doesn't require you to abandon yourself. It doesn't ask you to stay where you're being harmed or to keep giving to people who only know how to take. You can have boundaries and still be deeply compassionate. You can walk away with love instead of resentment.

The truth is, genuinely kind people are often quietly taken advantage of. Their efforts become expected instead of appreciated. Their forgiveness becomes permission. Their availability becomes obligation.

And yet, I still think kindness is worth choosing.

Not because everyone deserves it, but because the person you're becoming does.

I never want the world to convince me that cruelty is wisdom or that cynicism is maturity. I don't want someone else's dishonesty to teach me to lie, or someone else's coldness to make me forget how to be warm.

That's the kind of strength I admire most.

Kindness isn't found in grand gestures. It's found in the ordinary moments that no one applauds.

Holding the elevator. Letting someone merge into your lane. Returning the wallet with everything still inside. Speaking gently to the person who's clearly having a difficult day. Refusing to gossip. Apologizing sincerely. Leaving people with their dignity intact.

Most acts of kindness will never become stories.

But maybe that's exactly what makes them beautiful.

The world isn't held together by extraordinary moments. It's held together by millions of ordinary people making quiet decisions to be a little more patient, a little more forgiving, and a little more merciful than they needed to be.

Maybe you missed that train, that flight, that meeting, that opportunity because your story wasn't supposed to continue down that road.

We'll never know all the disasters we never had to survive.

The conversations that didn't happen.

The accidents that didn't occur.

The betrayals that never reached us.

The lives we quietly escaped without ever realizing it.

Sometimes protection looks exactly like disappointment.

And sometimes losing isn't losing at all.

Maybe the money you lost reached someone who desperately needed food that day.

Maybe the kindness you gave someone on an ordinary Tuesday stopped them from giving up.

Maybe the stranger who smiled because of you carried that warmth home to someone else.

We love believing we're in control of everything.

But life has always been bigger than our understanding.

A seed must disappear beneath the soil before it becomes a tree.

The caterpillar doesn't know it's becoming a butterfly while everything familiar is dissolving.

The sun doesn't disappear every evening.

It simply rises somewhere else.

Nature has never mistaken transformation for destruction.

Only humans do.

The hardest truth to accept is that not every chapter makes sense while you're living it.

Sometimes clarity arrives years later.

You'll suddenly realize why that friendship ended.

Why that door stayed shut.

Why your plans collapsed.

Why the timing never worked.

And you'll whisper,

"If that had happened, this never would have."

We often call life unfair simply because we can't yet see the entire picture.

Imagine judging a movie after watching only the first twenty minutes.

You'd never know who grows.

Who heals.

Who returns.

Who survives.

Yet we judge our own lives in the middle of the story.

Maybe the delay is preparing you.

Maybe the detour is redirecting you.

Maybe the silence is teaching you.

Maybe the ending is making space for a beginning you haven't imagined yet.

This doesn't mean every painful thing has a neat explanation.

Some losses simply hurt.

Some grief never completely leaves.

Some questions remain unanswered.

But even then, suffering can shape us into people who love more deeply, understand more gently, and notice beauty we would've rushed past before.

Pain doesn't always arrive carrying a lesson.

Sometimes we create the lesson.

We create compassion from heartbreak.

Wisdom from mistakes.

Strength from surviving.

Perhaps that's the miracle.

Maybe "everything happens for a reason" doesn't mean every event was destined.

Maybe it means every event can become meaningful depending on what we choose to build from it.

Life isn't asking us to understand everything.

It's asking us to trust that today's confusion isn't necessarily tomorrow's regret.

But peace cannot exist where there is constant resentment, ego, and the need to prove ourselves.

You cannot expect a peaceful life while responding to every situation from a place of anger and hurt.

Real peace is not just about who you keep away from you.

It is also about who you choose to become when someone disappoints you.
